Hello,

My name is Philip Leonard and I am a full time professional photographer with over 20 years experience of large commercial photography projects. I have worked with global companies like Paypal, Zurich Insurance, Novartis, Ebay, Bayer, Sky TV, Astra Zeneca and Abbott Laboratories.

My real passion though is capturing stunning imagery of my favourite city in the world, Edinburgh. Its intrinsic character creates endless opportunities for beautiful images regardless of the weather. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and have yet to find a city that can top Edinburgh for it’s photographic potential. Be it Arthur’s Seat, the Crags, The Castle, Calton Hill, The Royal Mile, The University, Princes Street Gardens, the Grassmarket or the warren of streets in the old or new town, there is a lifetime of photographic opportunity in this city. I consider the diversity of its architecture, natural geography, textures and character in such a compact area to be unique.

The old and new towns are a joint Unesco World Heritage Site. It is beautiful, authentic and has a remarkably coherent identity. Within a 5 mile radius you have remarkable opportunities and such a wide variety of subject matter. Its a truly special place.

I also offer one to one bespoke photo tuition in Edinburgh. I can show you my approach including finding and shooting special images, workflow, editing skills and many tricks of the trade.
